A 28-year-old Hanover Township woman was arrested and charged after she was found to be in possession of an illegal gun during a traffic stop in Florham Park on Friday, Jan. 24, authorities said. At 5:20 p.m., officer stopped a vehicle on Park Avenue for having an expired out-of-state registration, police said. The driver was intentionally delaying looking for vehicle documents, police said. Heroin, Crack Cocaine, Synthetic Urine Found On Trio During Traffic Stop: Clinton Township PD
Three people were arrested on Thursday, Jan. 23 after numerous drugs were found in their possession in Clinton Township, authorities said. During a traffic stop on Route 31, officers discovered Yasir Fahmy, a 29-year-old Clinton resident and Kaitlyn Verhoest, a 21-year-old Lebanon resident were found to be in possession of heroin, suboxone, crack cocaine, bottles of synthetic urine and a knife, Clinton Township police said. Drug Dealer Sentenced For Weapon Possession In Sussex County: Prosecutor
A 29-year-old Montague Township man was sentenced to five years in prison on Friday, Jan. 31 after pleading guilty to unlawfully possessing a firearm with intent to use it, authorities said. Authorities were originally investigating Keanu Alicea last year for running a drug distribution ring in Orange County, New York, Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Sahil K. Kabse said. When police searched Alicea’s residence they found a handgun along with controlled dangerous substances, Kabse said. Alicea also pled guilty to illegal drug distribution in New York, Kabse said.

A registered sex offender who escaped from custody while being transported in Newark last week has been apprehended, authorities said. Nicholas Voutsas, 25, had escaped from a New Jersey Department of Health medical transport van while en route to a hospital, New Jersey State Police said.
