Bus Driver, Passenger Arrested After Physical Fight: Newark PD A bus driver and a passenger were both arrested on Friday, Aug. 16 after they got into a physical altercation in Newark, authorities said. At noon, police responded to a report of a fight aboard a NJ Transit bus at Broad Street and Lafayette Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.  The passenger spat on the driver after a verbal altercation, Fragé said. Both were charged with aggravated assault, Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation, Fragé said.

Man Robbed, Assaulted By Three Men In Newark: Police A man was robbed and assaulted by three men in Newark on the early morning of Tuesday, May 14, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said. At 4:45 a.m., a man was walking toward Ferry Street when three men approached him and began striking him in the face with closed fists, Fragé said.  The man fell to the ground and was then kicked and stomped by the suspects, who took his personal belongings before fleeing on foot, turning left on Lafayette Street, Fragé said.
