Two Injured In Route 521 Crash:

Two people were injured in a two-car crash on Route 521 South in Sussex County on Friday, Oct. 25, authorities said. At 7:53 a.m., two passenger vehicles collided in a head-on crash on County Road 521 South in Montague Township, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. A third vehicle struck debris from the prior collision, Lebron said. The two drivers involved in the head-on collision sustained non-life-threatening injuries, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Sussex County Man Airlifted After ATV Crash:

A 21-year-old Sussex County man had to be airlifted to a hospital after an ATV crash on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 19, authorities said. At 10:57 p.m., police responded to a property on East Shore Culver Road in Frankford Township after a Honda Fortrax ATV entered the roadway, lost directional control and the driver fell from the vehicle, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The driver, a Branchville resident, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital, LeBron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Antique Car Damaged in Sussex County Crash: Firefighters
An antique car suffered some scrapes in a car crash on Sunday, Oct. 13 in Sussex County. At 4:41 p.m., the Frankford Township Fire Department was dispatched to Route 206 and Broad Street for a car crash with injuries, firefighters said. Three people were evaluated for injuries and first responders dealt with a fuel spill from one of the vehicles, firefighters said. The injured people declined additional medical attention, firefighters said. “We were sad to see such a beautiful antique get damaged, but glad everyone was okay,” the Frankford Township Fire Department said.

Motorcyclist, 39, Killed In Sussex County Crash
A 39-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a Sussex County crash over the weekend. Frank Jimeno, of West New York, was heading north on Route 23 on a KTM motorcycle when he veered off the side of the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail in Montague Township at milepost 50 Sunday, Oct. 6 around 10:30 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. Jimeno died as a result of the crash, which remains under investigation.

Rhonda Iwanski, a longtime Sussex County resident who was heavily involved in multiple communities, died on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Newton Medical Center after a long illness, her obituary on the Wood Funeral Home website says. She was 67 years old. Rhonda, of Sandyston, moved to New Jersey from Florida after meeting her husband, Mark, 28 years ago, her obituary says. Teen Football Player Airlifted After Losing Feeling In Legs In Sussex County, Police Say
A 13-year-old boy was airlifted to the hospital after he was injured playing football on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 21, in Sussex County authorities said. At 8:11 p.m., the boy was playing football at Station Park in Sparta Township when he temporarily lost feeling in his legs, Sparta Township Police Captain Thomas Snyder said. An Atlantic Air helicopter transported the boy to Morristown Medical Center, Snyder said. The young athlete regained feeling in both legs before the helicopter arrived, but was still hospitalized for for further evaluation, Snyder said.

At 10:20 a.m., Sung Yi was driving a Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound when it crashed into a Mercedes Benz at the intersection of County Route 650 and County Route 675 in Montague Township, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Two people were injured after a motorcycle struck a minivan on Route 206 in Sussex County on the evening of Monday, Sept. 2, authorities said. At 6:29 p.m., a Chrysler minivan was stopped in traffic, waiting to turn left on Route 206 north in Sandyston Township when it was struck in the back by a motorcycle, Charles Marcha, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The driver of the motorcycle and driver of the minivan were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, Marchan said. The crash remains under investigation, Marchan said.

Small Plane Crashes In Sussex
A small plane crashed in Sussex County on Tuesday night, Aug. 27, authorities said. According to the FAA, a single-engine Champion Citabria crashed in Sussex around 7 p.m. New Jersey State Police said the plane crashed into a tree line on Main Street due to a fuel issue. The pilot suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized. Only the pilot was on board. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate. The NTSB will lead the investigation and will provide any updates.

Teen Airlifted In UTV Accident On Sussex County Farm: Police
An 18-year-old male was airlifted to the hospital following a crash on a Sussex County farm on Monday, Aug. 26, local police said. The male was riding on the back of the UTV, a larger type of ATV, which was being used to perform work on a farm on Layton Lane in Sparta, Sparta Police Capt. Tom Snyder said. The UTV made an unexpected turn and the victim lost his balance, falling off and hitting his head, Snyder said. He lost consciousness and was flown to the hospital. "The operator of the UTV was fully cooperative with patrol units and showed no signs of intoxication," Snyder said.

Two people were injured when a motorcycle collided with a passenger vehicle in Sussex County on the morning of Thursday, Aug. 15, authorities said. At 11:41 a.m., the crash between a Honda motorcycle and a Hyundai passenger vehicle occurred on Deckertown Turnpike between Clove Road and River Road in Montague Township, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. A person was hospitalized after they were trapped in an overturned dump truck Sussex County on Tuesday, Aug. 6, authorities said. At 3:02 p.m., first responders were dispatched to Route 15 southbound in Sparta Township and found a dump truck overturned with a driver trapped, the Sparta Township Fire Department said. Vernon Mayor Anthony Rossi posted a video on Facebook of the vandalism at Great Gorge Golf Course, which is located next to the site of a former resort, that previously had a Playboy Club in the 70s and 80s. The search for a missing paddleboarder on a Sussex County lake came to a tragic end Sunday morning, July 7, police said. James Lee, 61, of Sandyston, had been on a stand-up paddleboard on Kittatinny Lake when he fell into the water and did not re-emerge Friday, July 5 around 6:45 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt.
