NJ Couples Expect Fourth-Most Expensive Wedding Gifts In U.S.: How Much Should You Spend? Newlywed couples in Northeast and mid-Atlantic states expect some of the most generous wedding gifts in the country, a new study said. Couples in New York expect the most expensive gifts in the U.S. at an average of $204.60 per guest, according to the study by fine jewelry brand Shane Co. The survey, based on responses from more than 3,000 Americans, also highlights regional trends in gift expectations, budgets, and wedding traditions. Jersey Shore Woman Used Company Credit Card To Spend $80K+ On Remodeling Kitchen: Prosecutors A Long Branch woman was accused of using her former employer's credit card to buy herself more than $80,000 in items, authorities said. Nadine Hurd, 37, was charged with second-degree theft by unlawful taking, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release on Monday, Sept. 30.  Investigators said Hurd spent more than $80,000 between 2018 and 2023 while working as the customer service and inventory manager for an unnamed manufacturing company in Wall Township. Thieves Steal From Luxury Fashion Store's New Shop Along Jersey Shore, Police Say Thieves broke into a luxury fashion store in Margate two months after it opened for business, authorities said. Margate City police responded to an alarm at Caroline's Fashion Luxuries on Ventnor Avenue at around 2:40 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, the department said in a news release. Several 911 calls were also made after witnesses saw the suspects break the store's glass window.
