The 48-year-old Plainfield man was walking in the middle of the highway when he was struck by a white Ford Econoline van in the westbound lanes just past France Drive around 8:30 p.m., Branchburg Police Capt. Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Car On Route 21: Prosecutor A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle along Route 21 in Passaic on Tuesday, Oct. 22, authorities said. The unidentified male was struck by an Acura sedan while trying to cross the roadway in the northbound lanes around 8:05 p.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Police Department Chief Luis A. Guzman said. Central Jersey Man Dies While Walking Across Road With Dog, Police Say A Mercer County man was killed while walking his dog and crossing a road in Hamilton Township, authorities said. Mohamed Ahmed, 63, of Hamilton, died in the crash on Wednesday, Aug. 21, the township's police division said in a news release. The crash happened on Hamilton Avenue near the intersection with Donald Drive at around 4:10 p.m. Investigators said Ahmed was walking with his dog on the west side of Hamilton Avenue when they tried to cross the road "from a mid-block location." Aurora Marcos Travis, of Newton, died on Thursday, June 27, after being struck by a 25-year-old driver who failed to yield as she crossed Madison Street in a marked crosswalk, local police said. Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Morris County, Prosecutor Says A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Route 46 in Parsippany on the evening of Thursday, June 6, authorities said. At 9:50 p.m., the pedestrian was struck near 1429 Route 46 by a 2015 Dodge Journey traveling eastbound, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.  The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The driver remained on scene, authorities said. The man who died has not been publicly identified. The crash remains under investigation, authorities said.
