A 39-year-old Newark man faces up to life in prison after he was convicted on Monday, Feb. 24, of vehicular homicide when he drove drunk and killed two people in a crash, authorities said.

'Loud Bang' Leads Police To Drunk, Reckless Driver: Denville PD
A 31-year-old Rockaway woman was arrested and charged with drunk driving following a crash on Sunday, Dec. 22, authorities said.
That day, officers were alerted to a "loud bang" on Indian Road and Route 53, Denville police said. Officers discovered a crash with the driver, Kristen Cobb, still inside the vehicle, police said.
Following an investigation, Cobb was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated, police said. Cobb was also issued summonses for reckless driving and careless driving, police said.

A Sparta police car was struck by a drunk driver on the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 3, authorities said.
At 10:09 p.m., officers were on the scene of a motor vehicle crash on Route 15, Sparta police said. While police were assessing the damage from the crash, a gray Ford, driven by 43-year-old Nicole Romeo, a Hamburg resident, struck their patrol vehicle, officers said.
As police tended to Romeo, they detected the odor of alcohol on her breath and noted her speech was slurred, officers said. Romeo told police she had a glass of wine earlier in the day, officers said.
