Wrong-Way Driver Killed In Multi-Vehicle NJ Turnpike Crash: State Police
A wrong-way driver from New York was killed, and three others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the New Jersey Turnpike early Sunday morning, Jan. 19, New Jersey State Police said. Ramin Shakhgusegynov, 44, of Brooklyn, NY was driving a Volvo SUV southbound in the northbound lanes when he struck three vehicles at 4:20 a.m. on the northbound inner roadway near milepost 96.9 in Linden, NJSP Sgt. Thanksgiving Crash Kills Former NJ Hockey Captain Gavin Barooah, 19
The victim killed in a Morris County crash on Thanksgiving Night, Nov. 28 has been identified as a 19-year-old former hockey player. Gavin Barooah, of Ledgewood, was behind the wheel of a Mercedes Benz when his vehicle collided with a Jeep around 8 p.m. at Morris and Sussex turnpikes in Randolph, according to Meghan Knab, a spokesperson for the county prosecutor's office. The driver of the Jeep was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Scooterist Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Newark: Prosecutor
A 63-year-old Elizabeth man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle while riding a scooter on Monday, July 15 in Newark, authorities said. At 5:25 p.m., Kenneth Roy William was riding a motorized scooter when it collided with a 2016 Jeep at Frelinghuysen Avenue and Carrington Street, a spokesman for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. William was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead soon after, authorities said. The driver of the other vehicle remained on the scene, authorities said.
