3.8 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes New Jersey, Multiple Other States The US Geological Survey said a 3.8 magnitude earthquake shook much of the Northeast on Monday, Jan. 27. The quake occurred at 10:45 a.m. and was initially reported as a 4.1 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was located near York Harbor, approximately seven miles off the coast of Maine and about 13 miles underground. Guttenberg Man Arrested For Serial 9-1-1 Calls Damaged Apartment Complex: Police A 34-year-old Guttenberg man was arrested and charged for the second time this month, this time with causing thousands of dollars in damage to an apartment complex on Sunday, Oct. 6, authorities said.
