John Francis McCarthy IV, the son of a Princeton judge and previously accused of impersonating a police officer in Quarryville, is now facing a weapons charge in Pennsylvania, authorities announced on Friday, March 7.
McCarthy, 39, of Princeton, NJ, was arrested on Thursday, March 6, after an investigation by West Lampeter Township Police revealed he had fired a weapon at Morr Range in Willow Street, PA, in September 2024, despite being legally barred from possessing firearms.

A Columbus, Ohio, man was convicted of killing another man at a Millville apartment complex, authorities said.
A jury found 33-year-old Darryl Wallace guilty on Tuesday, Oct. 8 of first-degree murder, second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, and second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said in a news release. An Atlantic City man will spend more than 15 years in prison after admitting to a home invasion, forcing a victim at gunpoint to withdraw money from an ATM, authorities said.
Glen Graves, 33, was sentenced on Thursday, July 11 to 18 years in state prison, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release on Tuesday, July 16.
