NJ Teen Mom Left Baby In Getaway Car During Botched NY Vehicle Theft, Police Say A New Jersey woman and a teenage boy were caught attempting to steal a running vehicle in Hewlett while an infant sat in their getaway car, police said. Officers responded to a home on Seawane Road around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, after a resident saw an unknown male inside his running vehicle, Nassau County police said. When confronted, the suspect fled in a white Hyundai driven by an unknown female. On Dec. 9, 2024, Evesham police officers responded to Burns Honda on Route 73 for a report of multiple new vehicles on the lot that had their wheels and tires stolen. Thieves Stole NJ Assemblyman's Car While Family Slept, Police Say A Jersey Shore assemblyman's car was stolen by thieves in Hazlet, authorities said. Assemblyman Paul Kanitra, R-Brick Township, said in a Facebook post that his car was taken from his mother-in-law's house in Hazlet just before 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Kanitra was in Washington, D.C. for his work as the owner of the lobbyist firm Lobbyit.com. Kanitra said the thieves drove up to the home in a stolen white BMW with temporary plates. Man Wrote Bad Checks To Steal Vehicle From Central Jersey Dealership, Police Say A Toms River man was accused of using bad checks to steal a vehicle from a Monmouth County dealership, authorities said. Robert Poelstra, 74, was facing two third-degree charges including theft by deception, the Hazlet Police Department said in a news release on Thursday, July 11. A Hazlet detective received "a crucial lead" in the investigation and conducted a stakeout outside an unnamed medical center in Ocean County. Poelstra was arrested there on Wednesday, July 10.  The stolen vehicle was recovered and will be returned to the dealership.  Anyone with information about …
