Man Smashing Windshields At Wayne Diner With Rocks Spits On 3 Arresting Officers: Cops A 27-year-old West Milford man was arrested for throwing rocks and smashing windows of parked cars at a Wayne diner, including a police car, and spit on arresting officers, authorities said. Evan R. Gonzalez was found walking along Hamburg Turnpike by Wayne officers responding to Park Wayne Diner around 6:40 p.m. Saturday, July 13, Capt. Dan Daly said.  Gonzalez had been throwing rocks through windshields of parked cars in the business lots, and went into the diner where he threw items out before leaving, Daly said. Car Fire Shuts Route 280, DOT Says A vehicle fire closed a portion of Route 280 Monday evening, June 24 in Essex County. Emergency response vehicles were at the scene in Orange as of 7:45 p.m. Two right lanes on the eastbound side just east of Exit 11 were closed.
