Grenade Discovered In Jersey City Garage A grenade was discovered in a garage in Jersey City on the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 6, authorities said. At 11:03 a.m., police were called to Belmont Avenue after a person found the grenade while cleaning out their garage, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said. The JCPD’s Emergency Service Unit responded and determined the grenade was real, Wallace-Scalfione said.  ESU determined it was a hollowed-out novelty grenade body, Wallace-Scalfione said.
