A grenade was discovered in a garage in Jersey City on the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 6, authorities said. A plane carrying two people skidded off the runway at the Essex County Airport on Wednesday evening, Nov. 6 after its landing gear failed, Fairfield police said. Person Sustains Life-Threatening Injuries In West Orange Crash: Authorities
A person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a two-car crash in West Orange on the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 29, authorities said. First responders arrived at Pleasant Valley Way and Belle Terre Road at 11:59 p.m. and saw multiple injuries at the scene, Joe Fagan, the public information officer for the city of West Orange said. One person sustained serious bodily/life threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital and two individuals were transported to another hospital, Fagan said. Paterson Building Collapse Under Investigation
Authorities are investigating a building collapse overnight in Paterson. The vacant, single-story building on Ryle Avenue collapsed around 12 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, the fire department said. The building is attached to a vacant three-story mill. Public Service Electric was on the scene working to isolate power to the street and manage downed wires. A would-be George Washington Bridge jumper was hospitalized Tuesday night, Sept. 24, after bringing traffic along the bridge to a halt, authorities said. A spokesperson for the Port Authority Police Department confirmed the investigation but not have any further information as of 7:40 p.m. Wednesday morning, a spokesperson said that the incident was reported at 5:42 p.m. near the 179th Street ramp in the westbound lanes. A 13-year-old boy was airlifted to the hospital after he was injured playing football on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 21, in Sussex County authorities said. An 18-year-old male was airlifted to the hospital following a crash on a Sussex County farm on Monday, Aug. 26, local police said. The male was riding on the back of the UTV, a larger type of ATV, which was being used to perform work on a farm on Layton Lane in Sparta, Sparta Police Capt. Tom Snyder said.
