ShopRite Murder: Arrest Made In Newark Supermarket Parking Lot Killing
A 56-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged on Wednesday, Jan. 29 with fatally stabbing a man in a ShopRite parking lot on Monday, Jan. 27 authorities said. Julius Gaines fatally stabbed Rodney Mayes, a 56-year-old East Orange resident at the ShopRite at 206 Springfield Ave. following a verbal dispute, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II and Newark Public Safety Director Emmanuel Miranda said.
