These 18 NJ Big Lots Stores Are Among Nearly 1,000 Closing Nationwide: Here's When
Big Lots, the popular discount retailer, is officially going out of business. The company, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September, has announced plans to close all 963 of its remaining stores nationwide, including 18 locations in New Jersey. The last day of business is expected to be in mid-February, according to sources familiar with the closures. A Cape May County woman was crowned Miss New Jersey in the fourth straight year the title has gone to a South Jersey native. Elizabeth Mendel of Cape May Court House won the competition at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City on Saturday, June 8. Dolphin Panics, Dies During Rescue Attempt In Jersey Shore Creek
A dolphin died during rescue efforts after it was stuck in a Cape May County creek for more than a week, according to marine biologists. In a Facebook post, The Marine Mammal Stranding Center said the bottlenose dolphin died in Cape May Court House on Friday, May 24. The dolphin was first reported in Skeeter Island Creek on Thursday, May 16. A dolphin has been stuck in a Cape May County creek for several days and marine biologists said they're figuring out how to rescue it. In a Facebook post, The Marine Mammal Stranding Center said it has been monitoring the bottlenose dolphin since it was first reported in Cape May Court House on Thursday, May 16.
