Drugs, Ghost Guns, Corruption: Former NJ Police Sergeant Indicted, Prosecutors Say
A former Middletown police sergeant was given 22 criminal charges after an investigation revealed a web of illegal activity involving untraceable guns, drugs, and abuse of power, authorities said.
David Ringkamp, 43, was indicted by a grand jury, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release on Thursday, Dec. 19. Ringkamp was formerly a Union Beach resident.
The investigation into Ringkamp began in December 2021. New York State Police identified Nicholas D’Ambrosio of Millstone as someone purchasing kits to assemble ghost guns, which are illegal in New Jersey.…
Gusty Winds Leave 5,000 New Jersey Residents Without Power: Here's Where
More than 5,000 New Jersey residents are facing power outages as high wind gusts were being clocked in parts of the state on Thursday, Dec. 5.
As of press time, JCP&L was reporting 2,521 outages in Ocean County and 1,494 in Burlington County.
Monmouth County was also heavily affected, with 1,125 customers in the dark, while Mercer County reports 104 outages and Middlesex County just four.
Utility crews were working to restore service, but estimated restoration times have not been provided.

$50K Powerball Ticket Purchased At Central Jersey Convenience Store
A Powerball ticket sold in Monmouth County hit it big, earning its lucky owner $50,000, officials said.
The ticket matched four of the five white balls plus the Powerball in the drawing on Wednesday, Dec. 4, the New Jersey Lottery said in a news release. It was sold at Welsh Farms on 33 West Main Street in Farmingdale.
The winning numbers were 1, 23, 25, 28, and 61. The Powerball was 13.
Another New Jersey lottery player also won $50,000 in the drawing. That ticket was sold at a convenience store in Linden.
