Tragedy In High Bridge: Crossing Guard Killed Remembered For Life Of Service Robert "Bob" Bork, a 79-year-old High Bridge crossing guard struck and killed by a car last week is being remembered for his dedication to helping others. Bork was hit by a southbound vehicle on County Road 513 at the intersection of Larrison Avenue last Wednesday, Nov. 28, according to the High Bridge Police Department and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office. Bork was airlifted to Morristown Medical Center, where he later died, officials said.  Good morning. 'Sleepless Night:' 2 Hikers Safe After 5-Hour Rescue In North Jersey Two missing North Jersey hikers were rescued in a five-hour mission early Thursday, Sept. 19, responders said. According to the Closter Volunteer Ambulance & Rescue Corsp, Rescue 728, the East Bergen Rappel Team, and Alpine firefighters were called to Stateline Lookout in Alpine for the two missing hikers. Palisades Interstate Parkway police Lt. Raymond Walter identified the hikers as 20-year-old men from Union City, who had climbed to an unsafe location on the side of the cliff.
