A Margate doctor will spend more than a year in prison for his role in a $5 million prescription kickback scheme, authorities said. Brian Sokalsky, 46, was sentenced on Tuesday, Oct. 29 to a year and three months in prison, said Vikas Khanna, First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, in a news release. Ex-Con From Deptford Sentenced For Selling Heroin, Cocaine: Feds
A Deptford man will spend several years in prison for selling heroin and cocaine, authorities said. Javier Osorio, 44, was sentenced on Tuesday, Oct. 29 to six years in prison, New Jersey's U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger said in a news release. According to court documents and statements, Osorio planned to sell cocaine and more than a kilogram of heroin. The drugs were found in his apartment. A Mays Landing woman was accused of stealing more than $175,000 from an Ocean County senior community and lying about her child's cancer treatment to delay court proceedings, authorities said. A dog was rescued from an inlet in Cape May County, officials said. The Stone Harbor and North Wildwood fire departments responded to the Hereford Inlet for a water rescue at around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, the Stone Harbor firefighters union said in a Facebook post.
