As President Joe Biden cruised to victory in New Jersey in the 2020 presidential election, he got some help from two counties that went his way after voting for former President Donald Trump in 2016: Morris and Gloucester. Morris County went to Biden, 51.14% to 46.90%, 153,881 votes to 141,134 votes. Residents Evacuated In Two-Alarm Fire At Florist Shop On Route 46: Mine Hill FD
A fire at a florist shop necessitated a second alarm in Morris County on the morning of Saturday, Nov. 2, authorities said. Firefighters responded to a fire at a mixed use occupancy structure on 173 Route 46 and found a fire on the first floor at Party Flower Florist Shop and transmitted a second alarm, with additional units responding to extinguish the blaze, the Mine Hill Township Fire Department said. Multiple residents were reported to be trapped on the second and third floors and were quickly evacuated, firefighters said. There was no word of any injuries.

Cameron Ray Killed In Route 80 Crash
A 19-year-old driver was killed in an early-morning Route 80 crash when he rear-ended a box truck stopped in the shoulder, authorities said. Cameron Ray, of Flanders, was heading west in a Subrau when he rear-ended the truck near milepost 38.2 in Denville around 5:40 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said. Ray died as a result of the crash while the box truck driver suffered minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available.

Serious Crash Shuts Route 287 In Morris County
A serious crash closed a stretch of Route 287 in Morris County on Thursday night, Oct. 31. The NJDOT site says the crash happened in the northbound lanes, north of Exit 39 in Hanover. As of 8:40 p.m., two right lanes were closed and emergency vehicles were at the scene.

A driver was killed after being struck by an NJ Transit train Monday morning, Oct. 28 in Morris County, authorities said. Authorities have released the identity of the person killed in a crash on Route 23 earlier this week. Hamid Shabuddin, 55, of Paterson was a passenger in a 2005 Toyota Camry that collided head-on with a 2021 Ford F-150 at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15 in the northbound lanes in Riverdale, a spokesperson for the prosecutor's office said.
