Quick Draw Ticket Sold At Denville Convenience Store Wins Big
It was a terrific Thursday for a lottery player in Denville. A Quick Draw ticket sold at Denville Mart on Thursday, Sept. 12 won $10,000. In Quick Draw, a set of nine “Your Jackpot Numbers” (01-80) are randomly selected and printed at the bottom of every Quick Draw ticket. If all nine of the player’s numbers are selected in any of the Quick Draw drawings that the ticket is eligible for, the ticket wins a portion of the Progressive Jackpot based on the amount wagered per draw.

Drunk Denville Woman Involved In Crash, Had Pills: Police
A 60-year-old Denville woman was arrested and charged after she drove drunk and was involved in a crash on Saturday, Sept. 14, authorities said. Police responded to Righter Avenue for a report of a crash and found Maureen Beekman, one of the drivers in the crash, to be under the influence of liquor and/or drugs, Denville police said in a release. Beekman failed field sobriety tests and was arrested, police said. Beekman was then arrested and found to be in possession of prescription pills without having the proper prescription, police said. A 31-year-old Lake Hopatcong resident was arrested and charged on Wednesday, Sept. 11, with possessing drugs and giving police a fake name during a traffic stop in Denville, authorities said. At 11:15 a.m., officers pulled over a vehicle on Route 53 South for multiple equipment violations, Denville police said in a release. During the stop, officers discovered the driver of the vehicle, Edwin Wendlocher, possessed a controlled dangerous substance, drug paraphernalia and Wendocher gave the officer a false name, police said. A Hackettstown man was arrested on Friday, Sept. 6 and charged with filing a false police report over an assault in Denville, authorities said. On Saturday, Aug. 31, officers began investigating a report that Edward Wess was assaulted by a group of people on Luger Road and his vehicle was damaged by a blunt object, Denville police said. Two people were arrested and charged with drug possession after being found sleeping inside a vehicle in the parking lot of a supermarket in Denville on Sunday, Sept. 1, authorities said. A family lost their home in a house fire on Friday, Aug. 30, and the Denville community is coming together to help. A fundraiser has been launched for the Jones family to support them following the fire. As of Tuesday, Sept. 3, more than $33,892 has been raised. Man Spat At Security Staff At Denville Hospital: Police
A 28-year-old Morristown man was arrested and charged on Wednesday, Aug. 28 with assaulting a healthcare worker at a hospital in Denville, authorities said. At 12:30 a.m., officers responded to St. Claire's Hospital on a report of an assault on hospital staff, Denville police said. Upon arrival, hospital staff told police Jordan K. Ali was combative with hospital staff members and spat on security staff while being restrained, authorities said. Ali was charged with assault of a health care worker, police said.

A 33-year-old man wanted by the U.S. Marshals was arrested following a traffic stop in Morris County, police said. Marcus Olivera-Leon, of Elizabeth, was stopped in an unregistered vehicle for having a brake light out on Augusta Street and Legion Place in Denville around 9:40 p.m. on Aug. 23, local police said. A 52-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested for the second time in recent days, this time in Warren County, once again a fake ID to open a bank account, authorities said. On Tuesday, July 30, at 11:39 a.m., Greenwich Township Police responded to the TD Bank on Route 22 for a report of a man, later identified as Luis Godoy, using a fraudulent information to obtain a TD Bank credit card, the Warren County Prosecutor's Office said. Man Exposed Himself, Publicly Urinated Outside Urologist's Office: Denville PD
A 30-year-old Union man was arrested and charged for publicly urinating outside a urologists office in Denville on Friday, Aug. 2. Officers responded to Garden State Urology at 282 Route 46 on a report of a man who had exposed himself in front of the office and also urinated on the property, Denville police said in a release. During their investigation, police obtained surveillance footage, allowing them to identify the suspect, police said. Five men and one juvenile were recently arrested and charged with numerous residential and vehicle burglaries in Somerset County, authorities said.
