Several Hanover Township police officers were injured after they tried to detain a man at a Red Carpet Inn on Friday, Aug. 16, authorities said. Three officers responded to the Red Carpet Inn on Route 10 to investigate reports of threats made from one motel guest to another, Hanover Township police said in a release. A man was arrested and charged with assault after an altercation at a softball game on Thursday, Aug. 15, authorities said. At 8:49 p.m., an off-duty officer witnessed the assault at Tannery Field, Hackettstown police said in a release.
