Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle Near Newark Bridge: Prosecutor A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on the evening of Friday, Feb. 21 near the Lincoln Highway Bridge. A 9 p.m., Newark police responded to Raymond Boulevard by ramp/entrance to the bridge, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. The pedestrian was struck in the travel lanes of the roadway, despite a pedestrian sidewalk directly adjacent to the regular lanes of travel, authorities said. Five Jersey City Victims Identified In Deadly Newark Crash: Prosecutor Five of the victims in a fiery Newark crash that killed six people earlier this month have been identified, authorities said. At 10:47 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6,  a vehicle carrying six people was traveling on Raymond Boulevard toward the Route 1&9 southbound on-ramp, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II said. Newark First Responders Rescue Man From Passaic River: Police A 23-year-old man was rescued after falling into the Passaic River in Newark on Saturday, Nov. 2, authorities said. At 10:22 p.m., first responders went to the Passaic River at Jersey Street and Raymond Boulevard on a call of a man in the water, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The victim was safely rescued and transported to University Hospital for treatment, Fragé said.  He is reportedly in stable condition, Fragé said.

Body Of Missing Swimmer Recovered From Passaic River, Police Say A body was recovered from the Passaic River on the morning of Friday, June 28, authorities said. At 10:38 a.m., police responded to the Passaic River near Red Bull Stadium on a report of a body floating in the water, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Police located the body near Riverbank Park at Raymond Boulevard and Brill Street, Fragé said.  The victim is a male swimmer who had not surfaced since entering the water at 4:25 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, Fragé said.
