Woman, 3 Kids Started Brawl At South Jersey Cinema That Hospitalized 3 Others: Police
An Atlantic City woman and three children were accused of assaulting four people at a Mays Landing movie theater, authorities said. Kierra McQueen, 32, was arrested and charged with simple assault, the Township of Hamilton Police Department said in a news release on Wednesday, Aug. 28. Officers responded to a report of a large fight at Regal Hamilton Commons at around 8:52 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27. High Algae Blooms Close South Jersey Lake's Beach To Swimming
A Mays Landing beach has been closed to swimmers due to high algae blooms, authorities said. Swimming was temporarily banned at The Cove at Lake Lenape, the Township of Hamilton Police Department posted on Facebook on Tuesday, Aug. 13. Low water and high algae blooms have prevented swimmers from going in the water since Saturday, Aug. 10. Police said swimming won't be allowed "until further notice." Woman Killed In Crash Near South Jersey Shopping Center, Police Say
An Egg Harbor Township woman was killed in a crash near a Mays Landing shopping center, authorities said. Elizabeth Walton, 41, died in the crash on Thursday, June 13, the Township of Hamilton Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to the intersection of Black Horse Pike and Hamilton Commons Drive at around 7:51 p.m. Investigators said Walton was driving a 2006 Nissan Altima west on Black Horse Pike when she didn't stop at the intersection's red light.
