Emergency responders were at the scene of an accident that took down a utility pole and wires on Route 18 in East Brunswick Thursday night, June 27. A young motorcyclist expecting his first child in six weeks lost his left foot and was undergoing more surgeries after a crash in Sayreville, according to a family friend. Pedestrian Crash Temporarily Closes Route 1 (

A pedestrian crash temporarily closed Route 1 in Central Jersey, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 27 northbound near Adams Lane in North Brunswick Township, according to the NJDOT and local police. There were no serious injuries, North Brunswick Police Capt. Brian A. Hoiberg said. "The scene was cleared in less than a half hour," Holberg said.

There was a crash and a traffic signal knocked down along Route 35 in Central Jersey, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26 northbound north of Route 650 (Chain-O-Hills Road) in Woodbridge Township, according to the NJDOT. Woodbridge police said there were no serious injuries.

Jersey Shore Postal Worker Injured In Van Fire
A United States Postal Service worker was injured when his van caught fire in Atlantic County, officials said. Margate firefighters and police responded to the fire on Clarendon Avenue near Amherst Avenue at around 1:40 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, the fire department said in a Facebook post. Firefighters arrived within two minutes and put out the flames. Paramedics brought the male postal worker to Shore Medical Center after he was checked by firefighters.
