Bicyclist, 35, Critically Injured In Jersey Shore Hit-And-Run: Prosecutors
A woman was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash in Lakewood, authorities said. The 35-year-old bicyclist was struck by a vehicle, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Lakewood police responded to the crash at the intersection of Maplehurst Avenue and Cross Street at around 7:15 p.m. Officers found the victim in the road suffering from serious bodily injuries. A police officer and a child were both hospitalized during a harrowing incident at a Central Jersey motel, authorities said. Sayreville police responded to The Knights Inn in Sayreville in response to a distressed family member staying at the motel who called 9-1-1 saying that their family dogs were attacking a 10-year-old boy around 11:20 a.m., Monday, Nov. 4, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. Car Crashes Into Home: Bernardsville FD
A car overturned and crashed into a home in Bernardsville on Sunday evening, Nov. 3, authorities said. At 11:10 p.m., firefighters responded to the crash on Pill Hill Road and found car partially overturned and into a home, Bernardsville Fire Co. No. 1 & First Aid Squad said. Firefighters were able to stabilize the car and both occupants had minor injuries, authorities said. The occupants of the home were unharmed and the home was checked for hazardous structural damage, authorities said.

Ocean Township School District Offers Support After Student Hospitalized In Apartment Fire
A Monmouth County school community was rallying to support a family whose child was severely injured in an apartment fire, officials said. A Wayside Elementary School student was in stable condition at a hospital, Township of Ocean School District superintendent Kelly Weldon said in a letter to families on Monday, Oct. 28. A driver was killed and two others were hospitalized in a crash on the Garden State Parkway in Tinton Falls, authorities said. Troopers responded to the southbound side of the parkway at around 4:20 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, a state police spokesperson said. Investigators said a Honda Accord and Honda Civic crashed head-on near milepost 102.8. A Volkswagen Jetta hit the back of the Civic, causing the Honda to catch fire. Man Seriously Injured After Crash On Route 287:

A man suffered serious injuries following a collision on Route 287 in Somerset County on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 18. At 5:18 p.m., a Ford pickup truck was traveling northbound on Route 287 in Bridgewater Township when it veered off the roadway to the right, struck the guardrail and then crossed into another lane, and hit another guardrail, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The driver, a 66-year-old Lake Hopatcong resident sustained serious injuries, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

A train operator was killed and multiple others hurt after a tree fell on an NJ Transit train Monday morning, Oct. 14 in Burlington County. A Trenton man was found guilty of shooting and paralyzing another man more than two years ago, authorities said. A jury convicted 40-year-old Henry Hutchinson on all counts on Wednesday, Sept. 25, Acting Mercer County Prosecutor Theresa Hilton said in a news release.
