Middlesex County Home Invaders Tied Up, Held Victim At Gunpoint: Authorities Three North Brunswick men were recently arrested and charged after they tied up a man and held him at gunpoint on Tuesday, Jan. 28 in West Caldwell, authorities said. 32-year-old Joel Llanes, 30-year-old Israel Ruiz and 25-year-old Louis Ramirez were charged with robbery, home invasion and kidnapping, in a case that involved Homeland Security, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. At 4:36 a.m., officers responded to Lougheed Avenue on a report of a home invasion, West Caldwell police said. So Ex-con Antoine Hawkins, 31, of Newark, took a deal from the government and was formally sentenced to 12 years in federal prison on Friday, May 31, for shooting two victims five days apart in the Brick City in August 2020.
