South Jersey Man Sentenced To 90 Years In Prison For Baseball Bat Killing, Prosecutors Say
A man will likely spend the rest of his life in prison after beating a Highland Park man to death with a baseball bat in Burlington County, authorities said. Larry Brown, 29, was sentenced on Tuesday, Aug. 20 to 90 years in prison, Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia Bradshaw said in a news release. A jury found him guilty in March of a dozen charges including first-degree murder. Brown was convicted of killing 34-year-old Cecilio Luciano inside a home on Bentley Avenue in Beverly City. Atlantic City Man Indicted For Attempted Murder Sentenced In Separate Case, Prosecutors Say
An Atlantic City man accused of attempted murder will spend several years in prison for a conviction on a separate gun charge, authorities said. Jerome Ford, 25, was sentenced on Tuesday, June 25 to five years in state prison after entering an "open plea," the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. He'll be eligible for parole after serving three-and-a-half years under the Graves Act. Armed Convict Arrested On Bicycle: Lawrence Police
Lawrence Township Police Officer Piotr Bystrek was on routine patrol on Friday, May 31 at about 2:35 a.m. in the 2100 block of Princeton Pike in Lawrenceville when he observed two males on bicycles commit a traffic violation. Bystrek made contact with the Princeton males who were positively identified as Jaylin Derry-Poole, 20, and Alfred Jornegay, 31, Lawrence Township police said.
