Passaic County Crashes Close Major Highways Simultaneously (Update) Two major crashes closed two major highways early Monday, June 24 in Passaic County. The first crash happened when a motorcycle and commercial truck collided just before 5 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Route 46, Clifton police said. The motorcyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries. All lanes were closed between Hazel Street and Paulson Avenue as of 9:40 a.m. Meanwhile, an overturned tractor trailer closed Route 80 in Paterson the eastbound ramp to Exit 58 just after 6:25 a.m., the NJDOT site says. All lanes were closed as of 7:40 a.m.

Newark Flight Attendant From PA Dies After Spinout Crash With Tractor Trailer On Route 78 Jennifer Friedel-Hoffman, a 60-year-old Pennsylvania resident, was killed in a crash on Route 78 in New Jersey on Wednesday, May 29. A tractor-trailer was parked and unoccupied on the right shoulder on Route 78 West in Lebanon when a Subaru driven by Friedel-Hoffman entered the area and struck the left rear of the truck just after 9 a.m., New Jersey State Police said.  The crash caused the Subaru to spin out and hit a Volkswagen passenger car traveling in the right lane, police said.
