Fuel Spill Shuts Route 3 After Four-Vehicle Crash A four-vehicle collision involving a fuel spill shut down Route 3 East in East Rutherford on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 20, causing significant traffic disruptions, authorities said. The accident, reported at the South Service Road at 12:05 p.m., began with a crash between a Chevy Malibu and a tow truck, according to East Rutherford Police Captain J. Yannacone. The impact set off a chain reaction involving a Toyota Tundra pickup and a dump truck. Driver, Passenger Flee NJ Turnpike Crash: State Police (Update) A driver and a passenger fled the scene of a crash with another vehicle on the NJ Turnpike in Bergen County Monday evening, Oct. 28, police said. The Toyota RAV4 and Audi Q3 collided in the northbound lanes at milepost 118.7 in Ridgefield Park around 6:55 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. The driver and passenger of the Toyota fled the scene on foot and were picked up by an unknown vehicle before troopers arrived.  No injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available at this time.

Passenger Jumps Out Of Moving SUV On NJ Turnpike In Bergen County: Police One person was hospitalized with serious injuries after plunging out of a moving vehicle along the New Jersey Turnpike, police said. A Hyundai SUV was traveling north on the western spur in East Rutherford at milepost 113.2 around 9:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22 when the front seat passenger jumped from the moving car, NJSP Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. The passenger struck the pavement and sustained serious injuries. No further information was provided.

NJ Transit, Amtrak Service Resumes After Power Outage, Brush Fire Service to NJ Transit and Amtrak trains was disrupted for the second time this week on Thursday, June 20 due to both power issues and brush fires along the NJ Turnpike, officials said.
