A Glen Rock volunteer firefighter was hospitalized Saturday night, Dec. 21, after sustaining a head injury during a "Santa Detail" event, according to incident reporter Boyd A. Loving. The 24-year-old firefighter was riding on top of a fire truck when his head was struck by a low-hanging tree branch on Doremus Avenue, near the Glen Rock Municipal Pool, Loving said. The injury, described as non-life-threatening, prompted an immediate response from local emergency services. NJ Man Sentenced In Deadly Assault After Shooting
A Passaic County man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in a deadly assault in Paterson that authorities said happened just after a shooting. Tyheem Jones, 40, was sentenced on Tuesday, Dec. 17, by Judge Joseph A. Portelli after being found guilty of aggravated manslaughter, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said. A 55-year-old New Jersey man fell 60 feet while climbing a New Hampshire mountain over the weekend, sustaining head and arm injuries as well as hypothermia, authorities said. The Oakland man was climbing Mount Webster in New Hampshire’s White Mountains with a friend on Saturday, Dec. 14, when he slipped and fell. Medical Episode Caused Serious Wreck That Hospitalized Little Falls Officer, Department Says
Little Falls police have released details in the overnight wreck that hospitalized an officer. The Little Falls officer was experiencing a medical episode while driving around 1:05 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, the department said. The officer’s marked patrol vehicle veered off Main Street and struck the building of a local business.
