Newark Man Arrested For Liquor Store Break-In: Franklin Borough Police
A 36-year-old Newark man was recently arrested for breaking into a Sussex County liquor store and taking alcohol, police said. Angel Soler used a tool to break the glass sliding door of Right Bottle at Sterling Plaza, Franklin Borough police said. Soler gained entry to the cash register, removed bottles of alcohol and a tablet belong to the store, police said. Soler was charged burglary, theft of movable property, and criminal mischief, police said. He was also arrested by the Passaic County Sheriff's Office on unrelated charges, police said.

Man Airlifted In Tree Branch Incident In Sussex County:

A 47-year-old man was airlifted to a local hospital Monday morning, Dec. 30 after being struck by a tree branch in Sussex County, police said. Troopers responded to the scene on Puder Road in Fredon at approximately 8:02 a.m. to assist with the medical emergency, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron. The man sustained moderate injuries from the incident, authorities said. Emergency responders transported the victim by helicopter for medical treatment. The cause of the incident remains under investigation, and no further details have been released.

Motorcyclist, 39, Killed In Sussex County Crash
A 39-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a Sussex County crash over the weekend. Frank Jimeno, of West New York, was heading north on Route 23 on a KTM motorcycle when he veered off the side of the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail in Montague Township at milepost 50 Sunday, Oct. 6 around 10:30 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. Jimeno died as a result of the crash, which remains under investigation.

A 13-year-old boy was airlifted to the hospital after he was injured playing football on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 21, in Sussex County authorities said. At 8:11 p.m., the boy was playing football at Station Park in Sparta Township when he temporarily lost feeling in his legs, Sparta Township Police Captain Thomas Snyder said. An Atlantic Air helicopter transported the boy to Morristown Medical Center, Snyder said. Teen Airlifted In UTV Accident On Sussex County Farm: Police
An 18-year-old male was airlifted to the hospital following a crash on a Sussex County farm on Monday, Aug. 26, local police said. The male was riding on the back of the UTV, a larger type of ATV, which was being used to perform work on a farm on Layton Lane in Sparta, Sparta Police Capt. Tom Snyder said. The UTV made an unexpected turn and the victim lost his balance, falling off and hitting his head, Snyder said. He lost consciousness and was flown to the hospital. Vernon Mayor Anthony Rossi posted a video on Facebook of the vandalism at Great Gorge Golf Course, which is located next to the site of a former resort, that previously had a Playboy Club in the 70s and 80s. Aurora Marcos Travis, of Newton, died on Thursday, June 27, after being struck by a 25-year-old driver who failed to yield as she crossed Madison Street in a marked crosswalk, local police said.
