4-Car Crash Snarls Traffic On Garden State Parkway
There was a four-car collision during rush hour on Tuesday, July 23 on the Garden State Parkway, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 8:20 a.m. southbound at milepost 131.4 in Woodbridge, according to New Jersey State Police. A 73-year-old driver from Somerset County died of his injuries on Sunday, July 21 — five days after a single-car crash on Interstate 287 in Middlesex County, authorities said. Bill Schocklin was driving south near milepost 8.8 in Pisscataway at about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16 when his Nissan veered off I-287, struck a guard rail and overturned, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. A 33-year-old Irvington man who had been missing since mid-June was found dead on Sunday, June 30, authorities said. Isaac Bishop had been missing since Tuesday, June 11, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. New Jersey State Troopers responded to the truck fire on Tuesday, July 2 at 12:40 p.m. on the south outer roadway milepost 77.4 in South Brunswick Township, according to Sgt. A state trooper was accused of trying to pay for sex from someone he believed was a teen girl and asking for sexual pictures, authorities said. Shane Dempsey, 31, of Brick Township, was arrested in Ewing on Monday, July 1, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release.
