Luxury Union County Car Trafficking Ring Dismantled, Four Arrests Made, Prosecutor Says
Four teenagers were arrested on Thursday, Sept. 12 and charged for their participation in an auto theft trafficking network in North Jersey, authorities said. Two juveniles, a 16-year-old Newark resident and a 17-year-old Jersey City resident would use stolen Kias, Hondas and Hyundais to look for high-end luxury vehicles like BMWs and Mercedes, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel said. Police ID Missing Fisherman Found Dead In NJ Lake
Police have identified the fisherman who went missing and was later found dead in a New Jersey lake. Valeri Malov, of Pine Brook, had gone fishing in the body of water behind an industrial complex on Chapin Road Saturday morning, Aug. 24, Montville Police Chief Andrew Caggiano said. Responding officers found his fishing equipment on the shoreline and began a search of the area. Malov's body was found the following day around 8:50 p.m. in the water, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, Caggiano said. Elizabeth Man Waned By US Marshals Captured During Traffic Stop: Police
A 33-year-old man wanted by the U.S. Marshals was arrested following a traffic stop in Morris County, police said. Marcus Olivera-Leon, of Elizabeth, was stopped in an unregistered vehicle for having a brake light out on Augusta Street and Legion Place in Denville around 9:40 p.m. on Aug. 23, local police said. Olivera-Leon, had active warrants for his arrest, and had been wanted by the United States Marshals, according to police. Police said only that he was wanted for violating probation. Authorities in Morris County are investigating the death of a 6-month-old infant on Wednesday, July 17. Police were called to a parking lot near South Ridgedale Avenue at Route 10 in East Hanover around 1:30 p.m. where they found the baby girl in a parked vehicle, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll said.
