Police were searching for two suspects involved in a violent robbery along the Route 30 motel corridor in Absecon, authorities said. Officers responded to a motel parking lot between Turner Avenue and the Home Depot just before 9 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29, the Absecon Police Department said in a news release on Tuesday, Dec. 31. An abandoned building fire in Galloway Township was being investigated as possible arson as the scene forced both directions of Route 30 to shut down, officials said. The fire ripped through an abandoned building on the 400 block of South Odessa Avenue on Tuesday, Dec. 31, the Galloway Township Police Department said in an update posted on Facebook at 3:20 p.m. No injuries were reported in the fire. A Mays Landing man admitted to leaving the scene of an Atlantic City crash that killed a Pleasantville woman, authorities said. Fabian Lucas, 38, pleaded guilty on Monday, Dec. 9 to second-degree leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. An Atlantic City man was accused of abandoning four dogs by throwing them over a Humane Society fence, authorities said. A grand jury indicted 23-year-old Jahlil McNeal on several counts of animal cruelty, witness tampering, and theft of services, the Atlantic City Prosecutor's Office said in a news release on Tuesday, Nov. 19. A wanted man from Williamstown was accused of having a gun and running away from police after he was caught jaywalking in Atlantic County, authorities said. Gregory Ganski III, 24, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 4 for weapons charges and his outstanding warrants, the Absecon Police Department said in a news release. Man Fired Shots In South Jersey 'Motel Corridor', Police Say
A Mays Landing man was accused of firing a gun in a South Jersey area with several motels. Desmon Wilson, 23, was arrested on Friday, June 14, the Absecon Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to a report of fired shots on the Route 30 "motel corridor" just before 10:30 p.m. Police began searching for possible victims in the area. After reviewing surveillance video, Wilson was eventually identified as the suspect and taken into custody. Wilson was charged with several weapons offenses.
