A 43-year-old Pleasantville man was arrested on the early morning of Sunday, Oct. 6 after being involved in a shooting in Atlantic City in August, authorities said.
At 6:26 a.m., officers observed Juan Maldonado on his bicycle on the 2500 block of Pacific Avenue, Atlantic City police said. Maldonado had an active warrant out for his arrest, stemming from a shooting on Saturday, Aug. 17, on the 100 block of north Georgia Avenue that wounded a man, police said. A 23-year-old man has been charged in a crash that killed a U.S. Navy veteran last month in Salem County, authorities said.
Christopher Poore, of Bridgeton, was heading east on Route 40 when he struck Allen Miller Jr., 45, near milepost 20.5 in Pittsgrove around 3 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, New Jersey State Police said. Poore then fled the scene.

A former bookkeeper for the New Jersey Apartment Association has been sentenced to prison and ordered to pay restitution for stealing $357,250 from the organization, authorities said.
