Scrap Metal Company VP, 24, Killed In Jersey Shore Weekend Crash The vice president of a scrap metal company died in a crash in Ocean County, authorities said. Kevin Scoda, 24, of Edison, was killed in the crash on Route 72, the Stafford Township Police Department said in a news release on Tuesday, July 23. Officers responded to the scene near milepost 24.5 at around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 20. South Jersey Man Killed When Car Crashes Into Tree A Pemberton Township man died when his car crashed into a tree in Ocean County, authorities said. Stafford Township police responded to the wreck on County Route 539 near milepost 11.5 at around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 2, the department said in a news release. Investigators said 30-year-old Gogi Jailava of Browns Mills was driving south when he lost control of his 2008 Toyota Yaris. His car left the road and hit a tree. The 2023 GMC Sierra was later discovered near the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, according to Stafford Township police. On Saturday, Feb. 18, at about 8:15 p.m., Stafford police received a call from Barlow GMC car dealership that a car had not been returned from a morning test drive. On April 22, at 5:21 p.m., Stafford police responded to Costco Wholesale, at 219 Stafford Park Boulevard, for a report of a suspicious person. Police met with a complainant who said his 7-year-old child had been photographed by the man. An on-scene investigation revealed that the suspect had been involved in previous incidents at Costco. The brightly colored package of edibles was reported to police on Monday. Prosecutor: Ocean County Man Admits Role In Fatal Alcohol-Related Crash A 24-year-old man from Ocean County has admitted to causing the death of a passenger in his car while driving drunk, authorities said. Jeydon Lowe of Barnegat pleaded guilty on Wednesday to vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. When Lowe is sentenced before Superior Court Judge Linda G. Baxter on March 19, the State will recommend a state prison sentence of seven years, subject to the terms of the No Early Release Act, Billhimer said.
