Armed Pleasantville Man Arrested For Atlantic City Shooting After Pursuit: Police
A 43-year-old Pleasantville man was arrested on the early morning of Sunday, Oct. 6 after being involved in a shooting in Atlantic City in August, authorities said.
At 6:26 a.m., officers observed Juan Maldonado on his bicycle on the 2500 block of Pacific Avenue, Atlantic City police said. Maldonado had an active warrant out for his arrest, stemming from a shooting on Saturday, Aug. 17, on the 100 block of north Georgia Avenue that wounded a man, police said. The victim sustained a non-life-threatening injury, police said.

An Atlantic City man was accused of forcing his way into a woman's home and assaulting her, authorities said.
Jerome Younger, 38, was arrested, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release on Monday, Sept 9. Officers responded to the home on the 1500 block of Ohio Avenue at around 9:38 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6.
Investigators said Younger started loudly banging on the home's door and the homeowner called 911 since she didn't know him. Younger then kicked down the door, assaulted the woman, damaged her cellphone, and pulled her outside the home.

A Cape May man was accused of decapitating a seagull on the boardwalk in North Wildwood, authorities said.
Franklin Zeigler, 29, was charged with third-degree animal cruelty, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest, the North Wildwood Police Department said in a news release on Monday, July 22.
Officers responded to a report of an animal cruelty incident at Morey's Piers on Saturday, July 6, and witnesses said Ziegler had decapitated the shorebird. Ziegler was also "irate and uncooperative" with police on an unrelated investigation.

A fugitive was taken into custody after an overnight standoff in Atlantic County, authorities said.
Prentiss Blaylock, 37, of Egg Harbor Township, was arrested on Friday, Apr. 19, according to an Egg Harbor Township police spokesperson. The scene on Ivins Avenue had been active for more than 24 hours, the police department said in a Facebook post.
