Fatal Pedestrian Crash Reported On Route 9 Jersey Shore: Police A man walking along Route 9 in Howell was killed after being struck by a vehicle overnight. The crash occurred at 1:55 a.m. Thursday, June 2 between Alexander Avenue and Ford Road, Howell police said. A 30-year-old Lakewood resident was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His name had not been released. The driver of the car was a 53-year-old resident of Deal. The driver was not hurt. No summonses had been issued. CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES

Pedestrian Killed On NJ Turnpike A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car on the NJ Turnpike in Mercer County Saturday, April 16, authorities said. The crash occurred on the northbound side of the highway in the outer roadway at milepost 68.4 in East Windsor around 12:25 p.m., New Jersey State Trooper Alejandro Goez said. The driver of the car that struck the victim remained on scene and was not injured while the pedestrian was pronounced dead, Goez said. The right two lanes were closed for accident investigation.

The victim needed ankle surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center after she was struck on Berry Street by a Ford Edge whose driver had made a left from southbound State Street at 2:17 p.m. Sunday, Police Lt. Anthony Natale said. Police issued a summons to the pedestrian for jaywalking, Natale said.
