License Permanently Stripped From NJ Doc Who Let 20-Year-Old ER Patient Die
UPDATE: An ER doctor had her medical license permanently revoked by the state of New Jersey for allowing a 20-year-old patient to die on her watch and then trying to cover it up, authorities said. Shar Kennett, 66, of Wayne was on duty in the emergency room at Overlook Medical Center in Summit when the patient was brought in with urgent "respiratory distress" on June 29, 2017, Attorney General Matthew J. NJ Hospitals Named Among Best In World By 'Newsweek'
Some of the best hospitals in the world are right in the Garden State. Newsweek, partnering with Statsia, released its annual list of the World's Best Hospitals, with six hospitals in New Jersey making the cut. Morristown Medical Center was ranked 47th, while Hackensack University Medical Center was right behind at 58th. Nine of New Jersey's hospitals were named among America’s best of 2023, according to a new Healthgrades report. US News & World Report has released its annual rankings of the best hospitals in New Jersey. At the very top are Morristown Medical Center and Hackensack University Medical Center. Speed Bump Kills North Jersey Sanitation Worker Riding On Truck, Police Say
A 74-year-old sanitation worker died after the truck he was riding on hit a speed bump and he fell off earlier this month in Scotch Plains, police announced. Ismael Oliva was riding on the rear platform of the truck when he fell off and hit is head on the 300 block of Henry Street around 9:30 a.m. Sept. 2, local police said. Good Samaritans had rushed outside to help the Plainfield sanitation worker when paramedics arrive. Oliva was rushed to Overlook Medical Center in Summit, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The crash remains under investigation.

The "U.S. News & World Report" has released its latest hospital rankings. The website considered more than 4,500 medical centers nationwide and honed in one 15 specialties, and 17 procedures and conditions.
