Trio In Clifton Attacked, Knife-Wielding Assailant Caught Trying To Flee US: Police
Two men were stabbed and another cut during a fight in Clifton with a Lodi man who was later caught trying to flee the country, police said.
Mirsad Kolasinac, 51, was captured by federal agents at JFK Airport in Queens, Police Lt. Robert Anderson said. He remained held on Monday, Dec. 18, in the Bergen County Jail.
Officers responding to an overnight fight outside the Village Square shopping center early this month found two men who'd been stabbed with a large kitchen knife at the Botany Lounge, Anderson said.

UPDATE: An unemployed Franklin Lakes man stabbed, bludgeoned and drowned his 87-year-old father in their home, then went to the police station to confess to the murder, according to a report outlining the horrific assault.
David Allen Hagal, 60, was charged with murder and illegal weapons possession in the brutal murder of his 87-year-old father.

South Jersey Man Admits Assault, Possessing Sawed-Off Shotgun
A 36-year-old man has admitted to assault during a domestic dispute and to illegally owning a sawed-off shotgun, authorities said.
On Thursday, March 23, Joseph Ferante, of Hamilton Township, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and unlawful possession of the weapon, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
Ferante was arrested on Sept. 9, 2021, when police responded to a residence in Hamilton Township for a domestic dispute. Police found the victim who stated that Ferante had assaulted him and then fled the property, the prosecutor said.

Two unemployed Connecticut men stopped on the New Jersey Turnpike in Bergen County were packing two handguns and hollow-nosed bullets in their vehicle, authorities said.

A Washington Township man stabbed his girlfriend dead before trying to kill himself before dawn Sunday, authorities confirmed.
Police responding to the Washington Commons townhouse complex off Pascack Road shortly after midnight found Mary Huber, 51, on the floor of her condo, with Patrick Camilli, 55, on top of her, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Huber, who'd suffered multiple stab wounds and bruises, was pronounced dead a short time later at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, the prosecutor said.

Paterson Police Officer Charged With Assault, Misconduct
A Paterson police officer beat a victim with his fist and a flashlight, kneed him in the face, then filed a bogus report about it, authorities charged.
Spencer Finch, 44, of Mahwah assaulted the victim on May 26, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said Friday without identifying where or under what circumstances.
“The aggravated assault took place while the defendant was on-duty and in uniform,” Valdes said.
