Wawa Shootout: Police Release Details In Terrifying Mercer County Incident
Police have release some details in a shootout that occurred inside of a Mercer County Wawa store early Sunday, Jan. 15. An argument broke out between patrons at the Silvia Street store in Ewing around 3:25 a.m., at which point workers asked them to leave, police said. One person stayed inside of the store and shot at someone who had left but was coming back inside, police said. The person re-entering returned fire, however, no one was struck. The incident remains under police investigation.

NJ Apartment Complex Manager Was Renting Some Units On Her Own, Pocketing Cash: Prosecutor
A Somerset County property manager was renting out apartments without her boss's knowledge and pocketing the "rent" for herself, authorities claim. Yessica Gonzalez, 44, of Ewing, is held at the county lockup on multiple charges of theft and forgery related to the scam that Prosecutor John P. McDonald says she ran for years. A Ewing man was arrested and charged with burglary after he broke into a Rider University dormitory and tried to look into a female room, authorities said. Officers responding to a report of a suspicious male at the campus around 12:35 Monday heard from two female students that the male in question had entered behind them and followed them into their residence hall. Bacteria that causes a certain type of pneumonia was found in a majority of water samples from about 30 Central Jersey homes, authorities announced. Legionella bacteria — which causes Legionnaires' disease — was found in water samples collected from more than half of 30 homes within several municipalities served by Trenton Water Works (TWW), the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) said Saturday, Oct. 15. A 25-year-old New Jersey track star was shot and killed while behind the wheel of a vehicle Monday, Oct. 10, authorities said. Daveigh Brooks, of Ewing, was found having suffered gunshot wounds in the driver's seat of a black Ford fusion parked in the middle of Greeley Alley in Trenton around 9:25 p.m., Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Man Shot Near Ewing Waste Management Plant, Police Say
A man was rushed to the hospital after being shot near a waste management plant in Ewing early on Monday, Sept. 26, authorities said. Officers responding to a report of a shooting near 432 Stokes Ave. found the victim with a gunshot wound to the leg just after 6:05 a.m., Ewing Police said in a press release. A 34-year-old Ewing man was shot and killed in Trenton on Sunday, Sept. 11, authorities confirmed. Officers responding to a Shot Spotter activation on the 300 block of Garfield Avenue found Chron Jenks with a gunshot wound to the chest around 5 a.m., Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said in a release with local officials. Jenks was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead shortly after, Onofri said. Police in Ewing are seeking the public's help in locating a 16-year-old boy reported missing. Conner Bromwell walked away from his home around 12:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28 and was last seen on Farrell Avenue.
