Fired Bank Employee Steals $35,250 From Vault On His Way Out: Closter PD
A bank employee who'd just been fired bid goodbye to his co-workers, then walked into the vault and walked out with $35,250, Closter police said.
Video cameras captured Marvin Herrera, 25, of New Milford gathering up the cash and stuffing it under his coat before leaving the PNC Bank branch in Closter Plaza last Wednesday, March 27, Capt. Vincent Aiello said.
Police were called when the money was found missing, the captain said.

Victor Mejia, 38, of Leonia “appeared nervous and gave a conflicting statement” about his travels after Officer Ryan Berger stopped him on Fort Lee Road by DeGraw Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 14, Capt. Chris Garris said.

A Pennsylvania man found himself in jail after a housekeeper at a hotel across the highway from MetLife Stadium found a loaded gun in his room, authorities said.

A money launderer from Queens was caught with more than $150,000 in cash stashed throughout an SUV during a traffic stop in Fort Lee, authorities said.
Investigators with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Narcotics Task Force stopped a Chevy Suburban driven by Hongwei Zheng, a 39-year-old liquor store cashier from Flushing, late last week, Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
They found $158,900.00 in cash “concealed in different locations in the vehicle,” Musella said.
Authorities seized the cash for forfeiture, the prosecutor said.
