The crash occurred at 2:07 p.m. Monday, April 17 on the northbound lanes of I-295 at milepost 30.5 in Lawnside Borough, according to Sgt. Philip Curry, a State Police spokesman,

As a result of the crash, the driver of the Ford sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the Subaru was not injured.

The name of the deceased is pending next of kin notification.

The northbound lanes of I-295 were closed from milepost 26 to 31 for approximately five hours resulting in heavy traffic congestion.

 The crash remains under investigation.
