The 15-year-old student from Camden County Technical School was seriously injured by the driver who allegedly ignored the bus' extended stop bar and warning lights, according to Gloucester Township police.

The driver's name has not been released.

The crash occurred at about 6:40 a.m. on Jan. 18 at Hickstown Road and Heatherwood Drive.

"Several children had already crossed the road when the driver recklessly continued forward," police said in a statement.

The stopped school bus had its red warning lights and "STOP" bar lit and extended, police said.

The driver stopped at the scene. No other students were injured.
