NJ Package Thief Told Cops He Specialized In Packages Delivered To Wrong Address: Authorities A 31-year-old Irvington mas was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Oct. 8 with concocting a scheme to steal almost $2,500 in packages from a home in Hasbrouck Heights, authorities said. Officers were called to a home on the 400 block of Burton Avenue on a report of a man attempting to intercept packages, Hasbrouck Heights police said. Ryan Rawls told officers he worked for a company that was a Verizon authorized dealer and worked in a division specializing in packages that had been delivered to the wrong address, police said. All 19 stores were issued a Notice of Violation after they were found to have violated the state's consumer protection laws, AG Matthew Platkin said. Irvington Woman Convicted Of Killing Toddler In Her Care After Sharing Her Side Of Story A 44-year-old Irvington woman was convicted of manslaughter on Friday, Aug. 9  in the death of a two-year-old child she was babysitting in 2021, authorities said. Claire Gelin was babysitting the victim from Feb. 15 to Feb. 19 in her Irvington apartment, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II said. The child sustained serious from physical abuse on Feb. 17 and Feb. 18, but Gelin did not call 911 until Friday, Feb. 19, Stephens said. Missing NJ Man Found Dead, State Police Says A 33-year-old Irvington man who had been missing since mid-June was found dead on Sunday, June 30, authorities said. Isaac Bishop had been missing since Tuesday, June 11, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.  At 2:30 p.m. on June 30, the New Jersey State Police Major Crimes South Unit and the Missing Persons Unit responded to a heavily wooded area near 13th Avenue in Weymouth Township and recovered Bishop's body, Marchan said.
