Fire and aid crews were dispatched to the Wantagh State Parkway in East Meadow for a car fire in the southbound lanes near Stewart Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. All but one of the eastbound lanes were blocked by emergency responders, Department of Transportation cameras showed. Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a Long Island teenager who has been missing for over a week. Zyddon Powell, 16, of Riverhead, was last seen on Sunday, Jan. 12, according to the New York State Missing Persons Clearinghouse.
