Massive Fire Erupts In Essex County Building
A massive fire ripped through a building in Essex County over the weekend.
The blaze out late Sunday night, Dec. 1, in a vacant three-story building on the 400 block of Main Street in Orange, formerly home to the Rossi Paint Company, according to Orange Deputy Fire Chief Elvin Padilla Jr.
The Orange Fire Department, led by Deputy Chief Rivera, responded to the blaze at approximately 9:30 p.m., encountering heavy flames consuming the top floor of the structure.
Mutual aid assistance was quickly called in from East Orange, West Orange, South Essex, Irvington, and Belleville Fire Departments.…
Newark Man Convicted Of Gun Possession: Essex County Prosecutor
A 39-year-old Newark man was convicted on Friday, Nov. 22 of gun possession following a two-day trial, authorities said.
In September 2021, Keiron Murray and another man were standing in front of a vacant lot at 169 Chapman St. in Orange, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II said. The officers instructed the men to leave the area, Stephens said. Upon returning two hours later, the officers discovered a gun, a hollow-point bullet, and methamphetamine on the ground near a parked car, Stephens said.

Essex County Facebook Marketplace Thief Steal $1,400 Tool, Police Say
Police in Passaic County have arrested a man who they say stole a $1,400 vehicle programming tool from a victim he met on Facebook Marketplace.
Jayson Moralessales, of Orange, agreed to meet the seller in person to buy the tool, but instead, fled with the item without paying on Oct. 5, police in Bloomingdale said.
Moralessales was identified as a suspect and arrested on Monday, Oct. 7, police said. He was released on a summons pending his court appearance.

Three teenagers were in custody after leading Paramus police on a pursuit that ended in a crash just off the Garden State Parkway on Tuesday, Aug. 13, authorities said.
The teen boys, ages 15, 16, and 15 — from Newark, Orange, and Paterson, respectively — were fleeing an Upper Saddle River patrolman in a stolen 2023 Honda Civic southbound on Route 17 around 4:50 a.m., Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said.
