DWI Jersey City Driver Charged in Hit, Run Crash That Seriously Injured Cyclist A 26-year-old Jersey City man was arrested on Thursday, March 6 with driving drunk, striking a bicyclist and leaving the scene in 2024, authorities said. On Saturday, May 25, around 5 a.m., Jersey City Police Department  responded to Garfield Avenue, Gates Avenue and Seaview Avenue, where they found a 21-year-old Bayonne cyclist with life-threatening injuries, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The victim was struck on Garfield Avenue between Gates and Seaview avenues near the city line at 5 a.m. Saturday, May 25, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
