A 24-year-old Bayonne man was arrested and hit with numerous charges on the morning of Tuesday, July 30. after he threw a rock at a man and uttered a derogatory comment about Muslims to a woman, authorities said. At 7:35 a.m., at 10th Street and Broadway, Moustafa Nossier threw a rock at one of the victims and threatened him with a knife, Bayonne police said in a release. Two men with long rap sheets were sentenced to 30 years in prison on Monday, July 22, for killing Shawn Watford in East Orange in April 2020, authorities said. Anthony Hagans, a 35-year-old Irvington resident and Clarence Johnson, a 38-year-old East Orange were sentenced after pleading guilty to aggravated manslaughter and unlawful possession of a handgun while their trial was ongoing, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II said.
