Eugenio Carta of Berkeley Township was operating a 1999 Buick Sedan when he drove off the roadway, struck the victim walking her dog on the sidewalk, then came to rest after hitting a tree around 3 p.m. at the intersection on Doral Drive at Cohansey Drive, local police said. Woman Charged With DWI After NJ Transit Train Hits Empty Vehicle In Central Jersey A Long Branch woman was accused of driving while intoxicated after an empty vehicle was struck by a New Jersey Transit train, authorities said. North Jersey Coast Line train No. 4384 hit an unoccupied vehicle in Long Branch at around 8:59 p.m. on Monday, June 3, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. The vehicle was struck at the Cedar Avenue crossing between the Long Branch and Elberon stations. The train left the Bay Head station at 8:28 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Long Branch at 9:06 p.m. None of the 25 passengers or crew members were injured.  Investigators said Lisa Doren…

Car Smashes Through Front Of Business In Central Jersey A car smashed through the front of a building in Mercer County, authorities said. On Sunday, June 2, at approximately 8:40 a.m., Lawrence Township Police Department received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting that a vehicle had crashed into the building of Worldwide Floor Covering at 2750 Brunswick Pike in Lawrenceville. Officers arrived on-scene to find the front doors of the business shattered and a 2016 Toyota sedan inside of the building, police said.  The driver of the vehicle, Jinyan Li, 36, of Lawrenceville, was not injured, police said.
