Man Found With Stab Wounds Dies In Downtown Bridgeton, Police Say

A Bridgeton man was found dead from a stabbing early in the morning, authorities said.

Wilbert Pace, 59, died on Friday, Oct. 11, the Bridgeton Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to East Commerce Street between Laurel Street and Mayor Aitken Drive at around 3:30 a.m.

Police found Pace suffering from several stab wounds behind a downtown building. Officers tried to save his life but he was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived at the scene.

Pace's last known address was on Pamphylia Avenue.
